Yesterday was my first time ever in the snow! I had so much fun!
My mom took Caleb (my brother), Sarah (my sister), Nichole (she lives with us... and gives me special treats all the time) and ME!!!!
I had a blast running...
Exploring...
And playing with the pack...
The thing that freaked me out most was when I didn't know if I would sink in the snow...
Or not.
But the best part was just hanging with my brother
My sister
And just plan having fun...
Mom says she is going to take me back sometime soon if there is a fresh snow on the ground! I can't wait to tank my way around some more.
Hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas week!!!
P.S. I love all my cards! Mom proudly has them on the fireplace mantel and says I have a lot more cards than the rest of the family. It's so nice to have all of you in my living room.
I know... I've been waiting for mom to tell you my going ons... she has been 'swamped' and I don't understand. The good news is she doesn't cut corners on my walks.. that's her saving grace.
We have been going to the 'Duck Pond' for our walks lately. There are lots of ducks and geese there.
But even better are the trails... We start by going down the trail by the big eucalyptus trees.
Then we come to a big field and sometimes there are horses next to the fence.
Then we cross a creek and come to a long trail that goes through some beautiful oak trees. This is my favorite part.
Then mom and I climb a big hill. Mom gets a bit winded, but I push forward to keep her moving.
The top of the hill makes it all worth it. The views are stunning in the morning when the sun peaks over the hills.
I love to take in the view of the west too.
Then we head down the hill and back home.
Oh and thank you all for tagging me!
Here are the 8 Random things about me.
I know you all know the rules, as I think all of you have already posted! So I'm going to tell things that will surprise you that are Random about me.
1. I can open doors. That includes unlocking the dead bolts too. I even let mommy in the house one day when she was locked outside without her keys.
2. I'm afraid of bubbles... the kind kids blow when they are younger.. like dish soap bubbles; when they are floating in the air I run from them.
3. I'm afraid of smoke too. Any smoke... if it's whirling in the air I run. When I have to walk past someone "smoking", I make a big wide space between them and me.
4. I love to go to the vet. I run to the door and 'box it' like a boxer does and wait very impatiently for mom to open the door so I can go in... then the ladies at the vet say my name and sing me my "Lola" song.
5. I have had 8 surgeries. Yep, I like to snort fox tails. When I do they get caught up in my nose and mom can't get them out. I sneeze and sneeze. That's one reason why the ladies at the vet know me so well!
6. Pictures of me have been published. I'm on a 2009 calendar coming out this year. I've been on Jones Soda's web site in their banner, and quit a few other sights have used my mug for their web pages and mailers including a few Humans Societies around the country.
7. I have been sprayed by a skunk. Take my advise: It's only fun in the beginning when you are chasing them... then when the deed happens it STINGS your eyes!!! Stay away from SKUNKS!!!
8. My mommy and daddy were going to name me Angelina, but Sarah my sister said later that my name should be LOLA and mom and dad agreed.
Has anyone not been tagged? I think all of my friends have been tagged.... but mom says she might be wrong about that... Please let me know.
Also... hope you all are enjoying your Holiday Season!
P.S. This is typical California landscape... the place where we walk is like a preserve.. and they let dogs walk there! (Although eucalyptus tree's are not native to California. They are from Australia. They were planted here during the gold rush, supported by the government, in hopes to have more wood for construction and rail roads.... but that didn't work out to well.)
I know you all are aware that I reside in sunny Southern California. Well, today was a sunny day indeed. The Santa Ana winds are here. This is both a beautiful and scary time. During these dry, hot winds, we get clear sky's and great surf, but also with 'fire season' it makes it dangerous with all the dryness and winds in the air. No major fires yet here in San Diego, thank goodness.
The moon was still in the sky when we got to the beach this morning.
Dad was ripping this morning! This was when we were down on the beach early.
And another from up top later in the morning... the sun is now out and we are high up on a cliff.
And Mom, Adison (another surfer's foster child) and I were having a good time too.
Speaking of good times! It was my mom's Birthday this week, and we had a big dinner with all the 'teens' over. Vicky, one of mommy's favorite girls, even called from New York to say happy birthday.
All the girls that come to my house call my mom 'Mama Bird'. They got her a cute card too. They made her a cake and cleaned up the kitchen TWICE! She said she had the best birthday ever.
Anyway... back to my story... dad got out of the water, mom took his picture and we headed home.
Tomorrow mom is going to take my picture for my Merry Christmas card to send to all my xanga friends. I can't wait.
